13-16 year olds – Have your say

Patient rights, including those of children and young people, are very important to the Grove Medical Centre. Generally, from 13 years old, you can start to have your own say about how your information is shared.

We are making some changes to help young people to make decisions about how their health record is shared.

Mobile Telephone Numbers and Email Addresses

As a young person, you can provide us with your mobile phone number / email address so that calls, emails and text reminders can come directly to you.

If you still want your parent / guardian to get the calls, emails and texts, you do not need to action. We may wish to speak with the young person directly to validate consent.

Online Access

Online access allows you, as a young person, to make decisions who can have access to your medical records online.

If you wish to change who has access, the type of access or have their own access, simply contact the practice and staff will be happy to help.

If you still want your parent / guardian to be able to book appointments or order repeat prescriptions without having access to your detailed record, this is possible.

You can also have full access for you and limited access for your parent / guardian.
